Rep. Gene Pelowski is unhappy with his caucus’ pick for minority leader.
On Tuesday, Pelowski criticized new House Minority Leader Melissa Hortman, DFL-Brooklyn Park, as representing failed policies and refused to vote for her in the ceremonial election for Speaker of the House.
Though not naming names, he rebuked both Hortman and her predecessor as House DFL leader, Rep. Paul Thissen of Minneapolis.
“I think that the person that we had leading the DFL caucus is a reflection of policies that have failed, and failed both in the 2014 and now the 2016 elections,” Pelowski said, referring to Thissen. “I had hoped for a new direction, and we did not get it.”
