New Saint Croix Bridge could open in August

Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation say that the new bridge crossing the Saint Croix River at Stillwater could be open as early as August.

Mary Divine at the Saint Paul Pioneer Press:

MnDOT had previously said the bridge would be open by November 2017 — a year later than originally planned. But Lunda/Ames Joint Venture officials say the bridge could be done by August.

“This winter they’ve accomplished a lot,” said Kristin Calliguri, a spokeswoman for MnDOT. “If it’s a wet spring or summer, that’s going to certainly push that open date back.”
