Suspect flees police on wrong side of freeway in stolen truck

A suspect in a stolen truck was arrested after driving on in the wrong direction on Interstate 35 in Lakeville.

Richard Chin of the Saint Paul Pioneer Press:

Lakeville Police Sgt. Jay Castonguay said the chase involved a stolen pickup truck that had been left running at a Menards store in Maple Grove.

The truck drove in the wrong direction for more than three miles before getting off the freeway at Kenwood Trail and heading southbound, Castonguay said. Police picked up the pursuit again and the truck turned northbound on Cedar Avenue in the southbound lane before coming to a stop at a dead end near a Lakeville’s parks maintenance facility on 179th Street West, Castonguay said. Castonguay said the truck fled at speeds up to 100 miles per hour.
